Are you looking to implement Yes/No popups on your website? Yes/No popups are commonly used for purposes like collecting email subscriptions or promoting special offers, and they can significantly improve your conversion rates by encouraging user engagement. In this comprehensive guide, we will walk you through the process of creating a Yes/No optin for your WordPress site while preserving HTML integrity.

A Yes/No optin is a form displayed in a popup window that offers users two clear options: “Yes” and “No.” These options can be presented as buttons or links, and when users click “Yes,” they choose to opt in, while clicking “No” signifies their decision to decline the offer. Sometimes referred to as 2-step or multi-step optins, these popups require users to take two actions, adding an extra layer of interaction. As an example, consider Advanced Coupons, which utilizes a Yes/No optin to let users decide whether to claim a discount or bypass it.

It’s important to note that you aren’t limited to labeling the options as “Yes” and “No.” Despite the additional step, Yes/No popups can be highly effective. They leverage the Zeigarnik Effect, a psychological tactic that suggests people are more likely to complete a process once they’ve initiated it. In the case of Yes/No optins, clicking “Yes” increases the likelihood that users will provide their email addresses. Additionally, Yes/No optins give your visitors a sense of freedom by providing a choice, making it more likely they’ll opt in to your email list.

Moreover, the “No” option can also be used effectively. For instance, consider WP Mail SMTP, which displays an optin when a user is about to leave their pricing page. If the user clicks “Get WP Mail SMTP Now,” they remain on the pricing page. However, if they click “I have a few questions first,” they are directed to the Contact page, where they can easily reach out to your sales or support team, potentially leading to a successful conversion.

To create a Yes/No popup in WordPress, we highly recommend using OptinMonster. OptinMonster is a powerful lead-generation software designed to convert website visitors into loyal customers and subscribers. With OptinMonster, you can create visually appealing popups
